Each May, EMBA-Global Asia admits a limited number of talented, high-potential executives and managers. The EMBA-Global Asia admissions process is rigorous and competitive to ensure that you will be studying alongside the very best students.

To be admitted to the EMBA-Global Asia programme, you will need to demonstrate the knowledge and experience necessary to contribute to high-level class discussions. You will need the ability to balance the significant responsibilities of your professional life with class, study and travel time, and be committed to undertaking a rigorous academic programme. You will also need to be clear that EMBA-Global Asia is the right programme to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Your application will be reviewed as a whole, taking into account all aspects of your experience and contribution.

Admissions for the May 2010 intake

We are currently accepting applications for the EMBA-Global Asia programme commencing May 2010.

The three application dates below are to help you plan your application timing. The sooner you apply, the sooner you receive a decision. Places are allocated on a rolling basis.

 Stage Application to be submitted by: 
 1 30 September 2009
 2 15 January 2010
 3 8 March 2010

Seats fill up quickly so we recommend that you apply early wherever possible. If you wish to receive a decision before 21 December, your application must be submitted by 9 November. Candidates who apply after the March deadline will be considered on a case by case basis.

If you wish to apply at stage 3 you will be interviewed for a place or a waitlisted place. This will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

You may require a decision outside of the staged deadline dates given above, for example, to meet company or department timelines. If so, please contact the HKU admissions team to discuss the timing of your application.

London, HKU and Columbia Business Schools reserve the right to defer decisions in order to ensure the highest calibre and best mix of participants on the programme.

Application checklist

To be considered for an interview for the EMBA-Global Asia programme, we require you to provide all of the following:

  • a completed online application, including application form, essays and personal statement
  • a one-page CV or resume
  • official academic transcripts or certificates 
  • GMAT score
  • TOEFL/IELTS if applicable
  • two references
  • a signed statement of employer support
  • a copy of passport page with picture and identification information
  • a non-refundable application fee.
