Admissions requirements

The calibre and diversity of EMBA-Global students is one of the key strengths that differentiates the programme from the world's other executive MBAs. The admissions process ensures that you will be studying alongside the brightest and the best.

To be successful through the admissions process, you will need to demonstrate:

• a successful career trajectory with progressive experience over a number of years, managing people, projects, budgets or other resources
• transnational responsibilities or evidence that you are working towards these
• a worldwide perspective, with international exposure and aspirations, and an interest in building global networks
• proven ability to succeed in an academic environment, including a good undergraduate degree or equivalent, and GMAT score
• high levels of motivation and a personal commitment to your professional development
• a hunger for new ideas, perspectives and challenges
• leadership qualities and potential to progress into more senior roles
• the ability to balance multiple demands and competing deadlines successfully
• a high standard of written and spoken English, with a TOEFL/IELTS score if applicable

Application checklist

To be considered for an interview for the EMBA-Global programme, we require you to provide all of the following:

• a completed online application, including application form, essays and personal statement
• a one-page CV or resume
• official academic transcripts or certificates
• GMAT score
• TOEFL/IELTS if applicable
• two references
• signed statement of employer support
• a copy of passport page with picture and identification information
• a non-refundable application fee.

GMAT score

The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) provides us with useful information about your quantitative and verbal reasoning abilities, and is a useful indicator of your likely success on the programme. It also acts as a benchmark against which we can evaluate applicants across degree subject, academic institution and nationality.
The average GMAT score of an EMBA-Global class typically ranges between 650 and 665. However, it is important to remember that your GMAT score is only one part of your application. When reviewing your application we look at your essays, references, professional experience and educational background to build up an overall picture of you as an applicant.

We recommend that you sit the GMAT before applying and submit your score with your application. When you register for the GMAT, you should ask for your score to be sent to the school processing your application, as we cannot confirm an offer of a place until we receive the original score.

English language certificate

If your native language is not English and you have not obtained a degree from an institution where English was the language of instruction, you are required to submit official evidence of your English language proficiency.

There are two standardised tests you may take:

• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
• IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

Official academic transcripts

You are required to submit academic transcripts from your undergraduate or graduate educational institutions, with certified translated copies if they are not in English.

Signed statement of employer support

Employer support for the time you will be out of the office is required to apply to the programme. You must provide a signed letter from an authorised person within your company stating that they agree to allow you the required time away from the office to complete the programme. The authorised person may be your department head, president, CEO or head of HR.

Many EMBA-Global students are also financially sponsored by their employers - either fully or partially. If you are financially sponsored to any extent, you must submit complete information on the terms of this financial support, signed by the authorised person within your company.

If you are self-employed, you must submit a letter stating that you understand the time commitment needed away from work to successfully complete the programme. You may also be required to provide evidence of your current engagements/contracts.
